4th Annual Waynesburg Farmer’s Market
on Wednesdays from 10 am - 1 pm from 5/14 through 10/15. Open-air market where locally grown produce, seasonal flowers and various other merchandise by Greene Countians is available for purchase. The market is located in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg. Lunch is available on-site.

History on the Hill Tour~ Waynesburg, PA
A cemetery with no tombstone, a banished cow, a school that graduated the first degreed woman in all of Pennsylvania, a famous artist, a Greene County born Governor, a segregated graveyard, a leader in female education, and much more await those who partake of The “History on the Hill” guided walking tour. It all begins at the fountain at the center of College Park in Waynesburg.

134th Rain Day Celebration~ Waynesburg, PA

Annual event held in downtown Waynesburg; following local lore, residents gather in the town square for a day-long festival that celebrates and encourages the skies to open up and drop some precipitation, but not too much!

Greene County Fair~ Waynesburg, PA

Greene County Fair held at the Greene County Fairgrounds offers local farmers, 4H members, and other talented folks the opportunity to display and compete with their livestock, crafts, baked goods, needlework, canned goods, and home-grown fruits and vegetables. Evening events include a rodeo, tractor pulls, demo derbies, musical acts and much much more. The traditional carnival rides and midway food and game stands are also a part of the excitement.

8/16-23           
55th Annual PA Bituminous Coal Show~  Carmichaels, PA.

The week-long celebaration includes the King Coal Parade, Coal Queen Pageant with participants (from 15 high schools), the State Mine Rescue Contest, a cheerleading competition with 500 participants, coal exhibits, a bike-a-thon, carnival and fireworks. There’s also a car show, an antique car parade, children’s pet parade, a bike parade, an array of ethnic foods and coal jewelry.

Frontier Festival~ Mason-Dixon Historical Park

This free event features numerous activities, such as civil war re-enactments, tomahawk throws, candle & soap making, lap quilting, weaving, Indian flutists, buck-skinning and ramp dinners.
This annual festival is named after Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon, surveyors famous for their work in the demarcation between four states (in the United States).

Greensboro Art Blast on Mon~ Greensboro, PA

August 29- Artists Conference from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
August 30- Arts Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Paddle on the Mon~Greensboro, PA
Come paddle about 3 miles on the Monongahela River upstream to Old Lock 7, pause to look at various river access opportunities in Greensboro, then head across the river to view the Friendship Hill National Historic Site's riverfront. Next go downstream on the Mon, to paddle up Georges Creek in New Geneva, then meet back at your starting point.
This trip is for all levels of paddling, from beginner to advanced, and is perfect for families of all ages. Hands-on training will be provided at the beginning and throughout the trip.
Denny Tubbs, Aquatic Resources Program Specialist, and his crew will be there to guide you along the route.
$5 per person, but you must register in advance.

Paddle on the Mon~Rices Landing, PA
Come paddle about 3 miles on the Monongahela River upstream.
This trip is for all levels of paddling, from beginner to advanced, and is perfect for families of all ages. Hands-on training will be provided at the beginning and throughout the trip.

7th Annual 50s Fest and Car Cruise~ Waynesburg, PA

Come check out the over 300 hot rodded cars, trucks and motorcycles that make up the event sponsored by Waynesburg Prosperous and Beautiful group. Step back into a time warp as the Greaser Doug Wilson plays all of the classics on the courthouse lawn, while hula hoop and bubble gum blowing competitions take place. Experience the free old-time black & white television experience in the stately Waynesburg Theater (built in 1871, it has hosted such dignitaries as President Taft, Amos & Andy and Will Rogers). Top the day off with a bite of 50s fare from local vendors and downtown eateries.

38th Annual Covered Bridge Festival

Check out our two locations in Greene County: The White Covered Bridge in Garards Fort, PA and the Carmichaels Covered Bridge in Carmichaels, PA. Crafters, reenactors, gospel music, dulcimer players and home cooking will be offered at the bridges. Come take a look at these remnants of a by-gone era. At one point there were 2,000 covered bridges in the Keystone State, today only a little over 200 have stood the test of time. 2nd Annual Bluegrass Harvestfest~ Peaceful Springs, Rices Landing, PA

Enjoy your local favorites Glorybound and Hargus Creek Bluegrass Band as they open for Pittsburgh's own living legend Mac Martin and his Dixie Travelers. This will be followed up by the Stevens Family from Berkley Springs, W.Va. Enjoy free parking, on-site food, pavilion seating, hay wagon rides and much more.
Gates open at 1 p.m. with performances starting at 3 p.m. and lasting until 8 p.m. with campfire pickin' to follow.

National Alpaca Farm Days~ Lippencott Alapacas, Lippencott, PA.

Touch a soft gentle alpaca, gaze into their big dark eyes and adorable faces, listen to their calm hum and let yourself fall in love with these wonderful animals. Visitor's to Lippencott Alpacas, the first alpaca farm in Greene County, will discover the reason that alpaca fiber is so popular.
Visit the gift shop and view and purchase alpaca sweaters, socks, blankets, and stuffed bears.
Photography is welcome. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
Hours both days are from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

15th Arts in the Park Festival~
Wind Ridge, PA

For two days history, arts, and nature converge upon the serene setting of Ryerson Station State Park giving guests a taste of various cultural offerings. Alpacas, chainsaw carving, country music, apple butter churning and the works of local artisans are among the many offerings of this time-honored tradition. Ryerson Station State Park got its name from the Fort Ryerson located nearby and constructed in 1792 at the order of Virginia authorities to be used primarily as a place of refuge from Indian raids. Visitors hike, hunt, camp, picnic, and bike among many other activities on the park‘s 1,164 acres. For additional information, call the park office at 724-428-4254.

Flashlight Drag Racing~ Greene County Airport, Waynesburg, PA.

Racing is open to anyone who complies with the racing rules and regulations. All vehicles must be street legal.
Rules are as follows…
DOT tires are required (No slicks)
Current valid state registration - Required
Proof of auto insurance - Required
Valid drivers license - Required
No passengers allowed in vehicle when it is being raced.
Safety belts must be worn at all times.
Convertibles - tops must be up or a helmet must be worn.
Vehicles must be driven to the racing venue - No Trailers.
Burn outs are permitted in designated areas only.
Drivers must wear wristband on left wrist.
An Altered Gas Performance Events waiver must be signed prior to racing.
Drivers must attend the drivers’ meeting prior to the start of each event.
Gates open at noon.  Racing begins at 2 p.m.
The format is simple! It costs $25 to race $5 to come out and watch. Kids under 12 are free.

B.J. Quallich Memorial Road Rally

A benefit road rally to commemorate the life of B.J. Quallich. The Greene Saver in conjunction with WANB Radio will host this event to raise funds for the Greene County chapter of the United Way where BJ served on the board of directors and appropriations committee. 
Hours: Registration 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.  Rally begins at 4 p.m.

37th Annual Greene County Historical Society Harvest Festival~ Waynesburg, PA

Offers guests an opportunity to purchase items from area crafters and artisans and to witness demonstrations by various craftsman on the museum grounds. Some of the crafts will include handmade baskets, handmade scented candles, cloth dolls, quilts, crochet items, pottery, season items and more. The 140th Pennsylvania Volunteers, a Civil War re-enactment group will be on site conducting a living history encampment and skirmishes both days. Festival hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Annual Social Service League Craft Show

Hours: from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Unique and unusual gift items fill the two rooms of the Waynesburg Elementary School where local crafters display their talents.
Free admission and parking, a well-supervised activity room where children can play while their parents shop. Plenty of homemade food and baked goods.

Greene Academy Christmas Homecoming and Craft Show~ Carmichaels, PA
