Jay S. Hammers is currently the president of Rhodes & Hammers Printing, Inc. of Waynesburg, having worked in the printing industry for over 35 years.
He started his career at the Democrat Messenger Newspaper in 1971, followed by 14 years at the former Sutton Printing, Co., before being one of the founding partners of Rhodes & Hammers Printing in 1987.
In February of 2002 Hammers purchased his then partner Harry Rhodes share of the business.
Jay is a 1972 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and is past president of the Waynesburg Rotary Club, and is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation. Jay serves on the board of directors of First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Greene County, as chairman of the board of Southwest Regional Medical Center, as a director of Waynesburg Prosperous & Beautiful, on the Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greene County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
|Jay was born and reared in Waynesburg before moving to Washington in 1980, where he and his wife Darla still reside.
Jay has two stepchildren, Dr. Rob Daniels of Canonsburg, Pa. and Casie Trabucco of Houston, Pa; and one grandson, Logan Daniels.
